just because: travelers know best

There are 58 days until I ship off to Southeast Asia for my annual New Years trip. The flights are booked, plans have mostly been made and my travel company is great. The one thing left on my mind now is clearly the most important: what and where to eat??

Help a fellow foodie out and tell me your favorite spots and dishes from across the area! All recommendations are appreciated and welcome; from simple dishes to more daring ones at street markets or in the five-star, I’m ready to eat my way through Laos, Thailand and Vietnam.

(Stay tuned to find out what and where I end up sampling as I make my way through the region!)

“I’ve long believed that good food, good eating, is all about risk. Whether we’re talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime ‘associates,’ food, for me, has always been an adventure” – Anthony Bourdain, Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly
